A very rare Stater of Lysimachos from Byzantion

KINGS OF THRACE. Lysimachos, 305-281 BC. Stater (Gold, 18 mm, 8.46 g, 10 h), Byzantion, circa 250-240. Diademed head of Alexander the Great to right, with horn of Ammon over his ear. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ Athena seated left, holding Nike crowning the king’s name in right hand and spear in left, leaning with left elbow on shield; to inner left, monogram of ΠΑ. Müller -. Cf. Thompson 234 ('Parium' and as a Tetradrachm). Cf. Nomos 11 (2015), 53 and Ira & Larry Goldberg 47 (2008), 1246 (both from the same dies). Very rare. Struck on a slightly short flan, otherwise, extremely fine.
